L.A. Loves Alex's Lemonade
Inspired while attending the Great Chefs Event in Philadelphia, hosts Suzanne Goin, business partner Caroline Styne (The Lucques Group) and David Lentz (The Hungry Cat) decided to hold a similar event in the Los Angeles area. Enlisting the help of culinary friends from the Los Angeles area and throughout the United States, the L.A. Loves Alex’s Lemonade event was created.
We've been honored to play a small part in this effort, and, wanting to increase awareness and raise money year-round, we developed the Valerie Loves L.A. Loves Alex's Lemonade Bar, with proceeds from every sale helping kids battling cancer everywhere.
Planned Parenthood Los Angeles
From its prestigious beginnings as a cooking demonstration with Julia Child in 1979, Food Fare has become one of the most recognized culinary fundraisers in Los Angeles. This is an event we've been participating in for many years, and one that needs our support more than ever. Last year, PPLA provided 130,000 patients with convenient and affordable reproductive health care in their 19 health centers across Los Angeles, including birth control, annual exams, STD testing and treatment and life-saving cancer screenings. In 2016, Food Fare raised almost $1M to help fund PPLA.
No Kid Hungry
No child should grow up hungry in America, but one in six children struggles with hunger. Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign is ending child hunger in America by ensuring all children get the healthy food they need, every day.The No Kid Hungry campaign connects kids in need with nutritious food and teaches their families how to cook healthy, affordable meals. The campaign also engages the public to make ending child hunger a national priority. In addition to fundraising, through events and our No Kid Hungry Mother's Day Box, Valerie was honored to serve as the California representative at the Democratic Governors' Association Gala, spreading the word about No Kid Hungry.
