Valerie Gordon is a celebrated chocolatier, chef, and entrepreneur whose creative vision has elevated Valerie Confections into one of the country’s most respected confectionery brands. Known for her charm, wit, and artistic flair, Valerie has shaped a brand that transcends food, blending culinary craftsmanship with design, fashion, and luxury lifestyle influences.

Launched in 2004 with her husband and business partner Stan Weightman Jr., Valerie Confections began with a single product—hand-dipped almond toffee. Today, the brand encompasses a curated selection of chocolates, truffles, petits fours, baked goods, and the beloved Valerie Echo Park café.

Blum’s Coffee Crunch Revival: In 2009, Valerie revived the iconic Blum’s Coffee Crunch Cake, now a Los Angeles classic and available nationwide via Goldbelly.

Author & James Beard Award Finalist: Her cookbook, Sweet, was a finalist for the James Beard Award and is celebrated for its modern take on classic confections.

Live-Fire Dessert Innovator: Valerie’s passion for barbecue led her to develop fire-kissed dessert recipes. She now curates BBQ Bootcamp at Alisal Ranch and is a Live Fire Cooking Resident at Food52.

Each edition highlights female-run brands in both the food and beverage offerings and exclusive gift boxes.

Continuing the Valerie Confections Legacy

In 2022, Valerie and Stan moved operations to a new 5,000-square-foot flagship in Glendale. The space includes production kitchens, a boutique, expanded shipping operations, and a tranquil garden for private events and classes.

From teaching hands-on baking and cooking classes to curating memorable culinary experiences, Valerie continues to grow the Valerie Confections brand with authenticity, care, and vision.
